Rob's Story

Rob's work draws from a diverse 30 year international business career in which he has had detailed operational engagement with over 150 operating companies around the world including over 50 acquisition projects.

He has operated as an independent consultant, a turnaround executive, an entrepreneur and a C-Level and board executive.

Rob grew up wanting to become a journalist, operated a public address system for a football club, qualified as an accountant, co-authored a travel guide book, trained as a television journalist, founded a software start-up, has travelled extensively and has spent most of his career in leadership roles within international businesses. His journey continues.

Extensive Experience

He has held senior positions within and delivered consultancy assignments for a range of listed groups, private businesses and start-ups including Datatec, Proudfoot, Data Translation, Intermec, Tech Data, Citrix and NCC Group.

Rob was part of Datatec's management team for 12 years, in 2 spells spanning 20 years, including serving on many of the Group's boards.  During this period the dual listed technology group transformed from a domestic South African business into a $6.5 billion technology supply chain and services group employing 8,500 personnel and operating in over 80 countries.

Rob served during Datatec's most significant periods of growth in a number of roles including M&A Director, Head of Consulting Services and Group CFO.

During Rob's tenure as Group CFO he was personally nominated for the CFO Awards in South Africa and the Group was nominated for Best Investor Communications, an AIM award.

Most recently he served as COO of Logicalis, a £1.5 billion turnover division, and as Chairman for Datatec's Consulting Services businesses.

Rob began his career qualifying as a chartered accountant with KPMG, where he worked in both London and Melbourne.

Rob has had a lifelong passion for team sports and has a keen interest in our world, its wildlife, nature and history.

He has travelled extensively both for business and leisure.
